Sheryl has been working with volunteers for more than 30 years. Her current role with Neighbors Who Care, an agency that relies 100 percent on the generosity and kindness of volunteers, has contributed further to her experience in the power and value of volunteering. Having witnessed the fulfillment and even healing effects of volunteering on peoples’ lives throughout these experiences combined with her certification as a life coach, Sheryl is passionate about sharing the many benefits of a mindful personal discovery.

As Executive Director of Neighbors Who Care, a local non-profit providing free respite care, evening meals, social services, transportation and friendly check-in calls and visits for local community members., Sheryl has made many solid connections with other community programs.  These include:  Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Dementia Friendly Sun Lakes, the Sun Lakes Memory Café, Dementia Friendly Info Classes instruction, and other activities has offered articulated relationships so that all members of the community may be informed and may access the wealth of special services in our own backyard that aid in aging.

Aging Made Easier, Neighbors Who Care’s branding for free community education on aging well has grown to offer an annual aging conference attracting hundreds from all over Maricopa County. The Aging Made Easier Summer Speaker Series that is held in a variety of partner locations informs and introduces Neighbors Who Care’s mission to new audiences.

Sheryl spends her free time reading and writing, helping folks sell their books on Amazon, exploring interesting foods, wines, and cocktails, traveling with her husband, Al, and enjoying life.
