Elaine Poker-Yount is an aging and dementia care specialist with a heartfelt focus on dementia. As a PAC® Certified Dementia Trainer and Certified Dementia Practitioner, she founded Successful Aging AZ, LLC in 2019 after 25+ years of working with seniors, boomers and their families and recognizing the specific needs of our aging population.
She is a Community Educator, Coach, Consultant, and Trainer, teaching a wide range of relevant classes, helping people to truly understand their situations. She facilitates several support groups, both in-person and on-line.
Elaine serves as a Dementia Champion under the state Dementia Friendly Initiative. She is Chair of the Sun Lakes Memory Café, Co-Chair of Dementia Friendly Sun Lakes, and is a Director on the Arizona In-Home Care Association Board, participates on the Healthy Brain Initiative Committee and is part of several Dementia Friendly task forces. Since 2012, Elaine also has been writing a monthly column in the Arizona Republic entitled “Successful Aging.”
Elaine loves hiking, pickleball, cooking and more than anything else, spending time with her family, especially the 3 special little people who call her “Lainey!”
